Plums

Fresh plums after the lamb really finished off the meal.

Be careful who you follow in life. You might not get to crawl through fences and find the fresh fruit.

Meat!

I couldn´t go all the way to Argentina and not eat the meat! Lamb and fried bread are the two items being cooked in the first picture.
I´ll be back to eating tofu in Seattle, so don´t get your hopes up Kevin.

Mardi Gras?

This may have been a Mardi Gras parade. We couldn´t figure out what it was for exactly and no one could tell us. Actually no one knew what Mardi Gras or Lent was. Our contacts are primarly Lutheran, and they don´t celebrate Lent in the one Lutheran church here in Comodoro. We do know that it happens every year at about the same time. What ever the reason they had the parade it was lots of fun with some great drumming and dancing.

Change of plans

Impatiently sitting by your phone wondering why I haven´t called yet? Anticipating that promised get together - ¨When I get back we should...? Not surprised at all I haven´t contacted you? I promise to call, have lunch, go for a run, watch whatever movie, ignore you, or whatever else I promised before I left for Argentina, just not yet. I have extended my trip by two weeks. I will be back in Seattle on March 8. This happens to be the first Wednesday in Lent, not counting Ash Wednesday, so I may, no promises, show up for worship and soup. Perhaps I will see some of you then. Meanwhile, stay safe and have a nice winter. I´m having a great sunny, warm summer. Speaking of Lent, Holly, making a new Lent CD this year?

Moonrise in Esquel

Esquel has been one of my top places to visit in Patagonia. The views are amazing. Special thanks to Sergio and Rodrigo for letting us stay with them and cooking some fantastic meals. Posted by Picasa

Made it to the top

time to read some Borges.

This pictures makes me think of Dinah, my other book-loving-hiking-buddy. Posted by Picasa

Glaciers. Mountains. Hiking.

You get the general idea. Posted by Picasa

The end of the world

and the beginning of everything.

This picture was taken on the Ferry Baracuda on the Beagle chanel.

It was really tempting to jump on a boat to Antartica, unfortunately it was full. It is now on my list of places to travel. I need to start playing the lottery. Posted by Picasa

Perito Moreno Glacier

Here are a few shots of Perito Moreno Glacier. Blue ice, Kari pointing, and the other shot of the glacier below are all Perito Moreno. It was pretty impressive. Posted by Picasa

and two drinks on the table. When you travel with Kari you never have to choose just one.
